Melody Flip is Roland's composition-assistance software built with research from Sony CSL. Roland describes a macOS/Windows DAW workflow with audio and MIDI export. It is not a built-in LA Studio browser feature. See the official announcement.
Check installation conditions
The current product page lists availability through Roland Cloud memberships, including the free tier, and specifies Cloud Manager requirements. Check OS, host, and installation details on the product page. Free access does not mean no installation.
Evaluate a candidate phrase
Listen to range, phrase endings, and fit with the accompaniment before accumulating many alternatives. One useful bar can be enough to begin an arrangement. Choosing and reshaping suggestions remains a musical decision.
After exporting MIDI
- Record source tempo and export range.
- Import MIDI into a DAW and assign an instrument; MIDI does not preserve the original timbre.
- Check the first beat and note durations. Different playback tempo changes the phrase.
- Compare with an audio reference export to verify the intended notes.
