LA Studio mastering: local chain building and reference matching
Find AI MASTER, understand its analysis limits, distinguish local and cloud processing, and check the export.
LA Studio's mastering controls are in the editor's DEVICES rack. Local AI MASTER and cloud Reference Matching are separate workflows. The former builds a processing chain; the latter is a paid reference-audio workflow.
Open local AI MASTER
- Open the editor for mastering and import the audio mix you want to finish.
- Open AI MASTER in the master DEVICES rack.
- Choose genre and target, then select Build master chain.
- Inspect the added EQ, compressor, saturation, and limiter and adjust them manually as needed.
What the analysis does
The current implementation examines a loud section of the loaded audio for band balance, RMS, and crest factor, then adjusts a preset recipe. It is not a neural model judging the final quality of the entire song. An empty project, or one without available audio buffers, cannot provide an analysis of actual audio.
Streaming −14 LUFS and Loud −9 LUFS are setting targets, not measured guarantees that the output exactly meets those levels. If you have delivery specifications, check the rendered file with a separate loudness meter.
Reference Matching is different
Reference mode uploads the project mix and chosen reference recording for cloud processing. Check login, plan, and credit requirements before starting. You also need permission to send the reference material.
Check the finished result
- Match playback levels before comparing processed and unprocessed versions.
- Listen for flattened kick and snare attacks.
- Check quiet sections for raised noise and breaths.
- Confirm that the export includes the final reverb tail.
Mastering cannot easily repair the balance inside a finished mix. If the vocal is too quiet, return to the mixing stage.
