A BandLab Alternative With No Sign-Up Required
BandLab is genuinely great as a free social music platform — but it requires an account, and your projects and audio live in its cloud. If you want to start working without signing up, or don't want your audio leaving your machine, it's the wrong fit.
LA Studio is a browser DAW that works the moment you open it — no account. Multitrack editing, piano roll and effects, plus built-in AI tools: autotune, 6-stem separation, noise removal, AI mastering. Audio processing runs in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose cloud save.
No sign-up, in-browser processing — audio stays on your device unless you choose to save to cloud.

What BandLab does well
In fairness: BandLab's collaboration story is unmatched among free tools — real co-editing, the fork culture, social publishing and discovery, polished mobile apps, unlimited cloud projects. If you make music with friends, its ecosystem is genuinely powerful.

Frequently asked questions
Can I really use it without signing up?
Yes — recording, editing, AI tools and export all work without an account. You only need one for cloud save and larger free quotas on some AI features.
Can I save projects?
With an account you can cloud-save (5 projects free). Without one, your work persists as long as the tab stays open.
Can I import BandLab projects?
Not directly — export your tracks as WAV from BandLab and import those.
Does the free version have ads?
Some heavy operations may show a short ad first; Pro removes them.
Is there MIDI / a piano roll?
Yes — piano roll, built-in instruments, drums, and audio-to-MIDI conversion.
